In 2023, 67 Guangdong public companies are listed in the Fortune China 500, accounting for 13.4 percent of the total, with a gross revenue exceeding 8 trillion RMB.

According to the list, Guangdong-based enterprises, including Ping An of China, Tencent, and Vanke, rank in the 5th, 23rd, and 27th respectively. In 2022, all three companies achieved annual revenues exceeding 500 billion RMB.

The listed companies fully demonstrated the vitality of Guangdong’s private economy. In terms of major industries, they cover equipment manufacturing, home appliances, bio-pharmaceuticals, automobiles, real estate, and energy, etc. 

From the perspective of different cities, Shenzhen stands out on the list, taking up 35 public companies. Guangzhou closely follows with 15 public companies. 

Foshan, Zhuhai, and Huizhou boast seven, three and two companies respectively. And Dongguan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Yunfu and Shaoguan each represent their own region with one public company on the list.
