On July 17, GAC Aion celebrated the opening of its intelligent factory in Rayong, Thailand, marking a pivotal strategic advancement in the Southeast Asian automotive sector.

By adopting the same technologies from its factory in Panyu district, Guangzhou, which has been selected as the world's only "lighthouse factory" for new energy vehicle (EV) production, the factory aims to support Thailand's EV production targets and empower the country's role as an EV hub in Southeast Asia.

With an investment of 2.3 billion baht (USD 64 million), the factory's current annual production capacity is 50,000 units, which will be expanded to 100,000 in the future, allowing for the production of various models, including the second-generation Aion V, Aion Y Plus, and Hyper HT.
